The court stated that such objections cannot be raised as the oath was administered by the Governor and the correct person had taken it. If the cost is not deposited within four weeks, it will be collected as arrears of land revenue.
Manipur’s Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, has stated that the ethnic conflict in the state is being manipulated by illegal immigrants seeking to divide the region. Singh emphasized the importance of the Inner Line Permit system in preventing the influx of such individuals. Both the state government and the Central government agree that the crisis is caused by illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh. Singh also noted that Manipur’s history is closely tied to the Kangla palace, and those who are not indigenous often distort this history.
